Our halva
Halva Factory PAPAGIANNOPOULOU starts in 1919 and is part of the history of Volos.
The founder was Konstantinos Papagiannopoulos, who studied in Istanbul, was active in the field of trade and learned the art of halva and other traditional sweets. Coming to Volos, he opens the Halva Factory, with modern machines for the time and the know-how from the city.
Konstantinos Papagiannopoulos is succeeded by his son Stylianos, who had studied Economics in Istanbul and Marseille and spoke six foreign languages. With these supplies and his admirable hard work, he managed to make the company one of the largest and most robust of its kind, nationwide.
After Stylianos Papagiannopoulos, the reins of the business are taken over by his two sons, Konstantinos, an economist and Ioannis an agronomist, with a master's degree in food technology. Then the mechanical equipment was modernized and new products were added.
Today, the company continues its evolutionary course, with Ioannis Papagiannopoulos as its director. Tahini is produced from the best varieties of sesame as well as handmade halva and other pure traditional products.
Volos Halva "PAPAGIANNOPOULOS" is handmade and prepared with the same family traditional recipe for almost 100 years. The ingredients of exceptional quality compose a unique halva, with a chewy texture and special taste, in classic and many new flavors in original combinations, such as honey, health chocolate, white chocolate, cranberries, cocoa hazelnuts, raisins, without sugar and many more.
